Nelson Contra with Allemande Joy 2018
5-11 February 2018

The Allemande Joy Contra tour starts in Nelson. They will stay almost a week. So Nelson is the place to visit if you are keen to meet and dance with them. There will be three contra dances (all at Victory Community Centre), some opportunities to jam with the tour musicians, a Morris dance display and a Scottish Ceilidh run by local Scottish Country Dance clubs.

      (with Ragged Crow Morris display)
  • Friday 9 Feb Ceilidh 7.30 -9.30pm Masonic Hall, 107 Nile St
      ($5 entry fee - part of Dance Scottish Month 2018)
  • Saturday 10 Feb 7 - 10:30 pm Dance
      (with supper at end)

The talent is provided by the tour musicians and callers with help from local contra buffs. As in the past those on Allemande Joy tour have a great deal of skilled callers, contra musicians and dance experts.
